She had so much to say.
Her heart was full, and it was good:
Rich nostalgia, and revelation.
Past, present, and future, all
Interwoven by time.
I did not listen. ..I could not hear.
Now, times gone by
Are interwoven by eternity.
Her voiced, now silenced, rings softly.
I listen, ..and I hear.
She is still with me, in words
Not heard in days gone by,
Sound now clearly
Within my Heart.
Ruth Jenkins Taylor, in memory of my mother,
Lillie May Bailey Jenkins. April 20, 1908 - September 26, 1983
So much a part of my soul
You were born from my heart
We talked...before you were born
As I went through my days...waiting for you
in My tiny world...our tiny world
Though time and distance
May keep us apart, there will always be
A private world we share.
I nursed you through
Childhood diseases, hurts, and bruises
Then you opened up your small arms
And nursed me through a broken heart.
You are a son
In the finest sense of the word.
Sometimes you stumbled, and your way was hard.
I wish my arms had been
A little stronger to do the guiding,
But there is no way an earthly love
Could be stronger than that I have for you.
And I Believe in You...Believe in Yourself,
My son....with the beautiful soul.

To wound a kind and loving heart,
It may be but a trifling thing
That cuts as deeply as a dart.
Only a word may stir up strife
And quickly cause a bitter hate:
The deepest sorrow make for life,
Then may repentance come too late.
Only a word may be a ray
Of sunshine in some dismal room,
And help to brighten many a day
Which would be spent in gloom.
